the life coach 26

Rolf was my favourite uncle and I miss him stillEntering heaven with a bang

26

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows where
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

So on we go

His welfare is of my concern
No burden is he to
bear
We'll get there

For I know
He would not encumber me
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

If I'm laden at all
I'm laden with sadness
That everyone's heart
Isn't filled with the gladness
Of
love for one another

It's a long, long road
From which there is no return
While we're on the way to there
Why not share

And the load
Doesn't weigh me down at all
He ain't heavy he's my brother

He's my brother
He ain't heavy, he's my brother

The Hollies:”He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother

The next morning Jay woke up very early; someone was singing in the bathroom and it wasn’t Pearly; she was still lying beside him.

There was a woman singing for sure, but he could also hear a man humming the same tune as she was…

He smiled and thought to himself:”let’s hope George will have some happy days here on Crete!”

The couple tried to keep it quiet, but Jay knew what was going on. He could hear them sneaking out of the bathroom now; giggling and satisfied both of them; by the sound of them…

Jay waited a while and then he got out of bed and went into his own bathroom. He had a shower; without singing.

Back in the bedroom Pearly was awake lying with her arms underneath her head. She was thinking of what she had witnessed in yesterday’s session and was looking forward to continue today. She didn’t quite know what the plans were, but knew there would be some painting today too and dancing to music that Jay had picked for the occasion.

Jay had piled all the CD’s in a certain order and she wasn’t going to snoop around too much, but just follow the workshop and learn as much as she could for later sessions. She wanted to understand Jay’s methods and observe how it worked with the group; and with her. Obviously she was already finding out about things, but she didn’t know how the whole program would work and she was really keen learn about it…

Jay came in and dropped the towel on a chair. He turned to her and said “good morning, my love!” She loved the way he always did this; it cheered her up the way he was talking to her…

“Can you keep me company just a couple of minutes, dear?” she said. He looked at her and smiled: “You mean in bed?” “Yes, something like that,” she said. “No too much I hope. I have to get out there and do some preparations before we start”…

“Not too much, my love; just a hug and a kiss and a little comfort before we start a new day?”

He crawls underneath the sheet and holds her tight to him and strokes her back and hair. They kissed and hugged and lie still and close for a while and then he had to leave again. She said;” thank you, darling”, and jumped out of bed and went for the bathroom…

He dressed and went out into the hall where people now were queuing up for a shower…

Jay was happy they were just six…

He went into the big bedroom and found George and Linda sitting together on a mattress. Jay said good morning and the both smiled back at him… “Neat”, he thought.

He asked him to help him clear the floor and raise the mattresses up against the walls and then to remove the plastic and roll it up against the wall too. They were more than happy to do it and did the job before he could turn around…

“Why do you want to clear the room like this, Jay? “ Linda asked.

“We are going to do some dancing meditation before we start the next session of painting. It will wake you all up and give you energy and inspiration to keep on painting”

Jay went over to start the CD player. He had chosen some heavy dancing music that would go straight into people’s minds through their hips and spines.

Linda got caught by the rhythm at once and started stamping her feet as she was supposed to do for gaining the best effect of the power in it…

Jay smiled and turned to George and winked at him: “what a girl!” he said in a low tone. George nodded and produced a broad grin…

“Neat!”, Jay thought; again…

Now the rest of the group came marching into the room and Jay told them to just stand on the floor and keep distance to their neighbours.

They spread out and looked at him; not knowing what was going to happen.

Jay turned on the music again. The name of the CD was “Feet in the Soil” and was meant to stir up energy that came out of the stamping from the legs.

Linda and George started jumping at once and Jay had to stop them: “please my friends do not jump!” - addressing the whole group; “just stamp your feet in the Soil as it says on this cover and pretend that the floor is your soil!”

The group came into rhythm and synchronized their movements in just a minute! Jay was amazed by these people! So easy to be with. Pearly was dancing too. She was a professional ballet dancer, but showed nothing of that in this dance! She was excited and with her gracious body she did unbelievable movements that fascinated Jay and the others.

He noticed that the couple still held their distance and none of them looked happy… They were dancing as far away from each other as possible. “Maybe they have an agreement about this”, Jay thought.

The first cut of the music was done and Jay announced he would play another one that would go deeper… He told them to be aware of their movements and the emotions that would come up them.

This cut was really heavy and Jay kept an eye on every one to see if it would be too hard for them. The male part of the couple was a heavy man and Jay danced beside him and noticed the heavy sweat coming and panting coming from him. “Rob,” he said, “just adjust your moves whenever you need to; all right?” Rob nodded and slowed down a little.

Jay turned off the music and received a boooh! from the group. He laughed at them and said that they would need to slow down to be more settled when they started painting. He assured them that there would plenty of dancing later...

George and Linda helped him roll the plastic back into place. The canvases were circulated to some amusement as some of them weren’t satisfied with their own works from yesterday.

“Have no fear”, said Jay, “This is not a competition. Just throw out what comes up from your minds and put it down on the canvas with the suiting colours. This is a kind of expressive of painting and it should not be presented in an art gallery.”

The group quieted down as they sat down with their partners to paint again.

Pearly put on some soothing music and peace filled on them all.

Jay said:” remember the emotions from your stamping and try to express it on your canvases.”

There was silence for a while except for the music…

Jay knew it wouldn’t last. He had seen the wife of Rob shedding tears as she was painting and went over to her to have a look at what she was painting. She had painted an alley of trees and a big red house at the end of it. Now she had stopped and said she couldn’t make it. She had wanted to express her feelings, but this was what she came up with and she hated it…

Jay went over to Pearly and told her to fill up a plastic cup with sharp yellow paint. He got it and went back to Mary, Rob’s wife.

“So what can you do with this?” he asked her as he put the cup of paint beside her painting. She looked at him; and understood. The tears were flowing down her cheeks now. She was still sitting in a frozen position. “Can I go outside and have some fresh air?” “I’d rather see you do what you need to do”, Jay said and looked at her. “Then you can have some fresh air.” Then, suddenly she took the cup in a swift movement and splashed all over her painting. Then she just marched out of the room…

Jay was very satisfied. He looked over to Rob and nodded: “it’s ok”.

He was glad for Rob’s concern, he was connected and probably he knew what had been going on with his wife…

Jay turned to the group and said it was time for breakfast in the garden. Pearly and Linda had prepared it all and laid the tables outside for all of them.

They all went out and with some concern, after watching the incident with Mary.
